Project Description:
Planning money for the expansion of the Putnam County Health Department on its existing site. Present facility including original building and a later annex is overcrowded. Construction money request will follow next year.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
This expansion is needed to safely accomodate our employees and eliminate the overcrowded conditions of the Putnam County Health Dept. where 86 employees are crowded into space designed for 60 employees. The community relies on the Health Dept. to assure the public's health, from preventing the spread of a meningitis outbreak in 1999 to reducing violence in our community. Our employees productivity will be enhanced by a work environment designed to safely accomodate current staffings as well as projected growth of the county and the Health Dept.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Customer and employee satisfaction will improve and can be measured against earlier customer satisfaction surveys. An improved work and clinic area is expected to positively impact employee productivity and the number of services delivered to community residents and visitors. Data is available to compare and measure this.
