This is a major project that includes agreements making it a dual county project. It meets with FDEP approvals and goals to provide wastewater service along the entire top of Lake Okeechobee and remove aging and failing individual septic systems and package plants. This project is named and given appropriate attention in the Re-Study Report. SFWMD has entered into Cooperative Agreements and is also assisting. The local governments have sought other federal grants and with this appropriation, this becomes a true local, regional, state, and federal partnership. |
