This appropriation will allow the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind to complete its 2000-2001 Fixed Capital Outlay Plan. This appropriation, which is in both the Commissioner of Education and the Governor's budget will allow the school to complete five significant projects. The first and primary of these is $4 million for their Vocational Building, which is designed to provide the deaf and blind students an opportunity to learn working vocational skills. Secondly, this appropriation includes just over $5 million for general remodelling, such as roof repairs, HVAC system repairs and replacement and resealing of building envelopes. The rest of the appropration is set aside for site aquisition, campus safety projects and updates to their master plan. |
