Project Description:
Approximately 1,500 children per year who have been evaluated by the Juvenile Justice Assessment Center are referred for outpatient mental health services. The Department of Children & Families and ADM are currently funded for only 78 outpatient slots.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
This funding would allow for those remaining children to receive these outpatient mental health services through the Children's Provider Network at the Child Development Center at St. Mary's Hospital. St. Mary's manages the Children's Provider Network which represents a consortium of providers of mental health services in Palm Beach County.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
(1) 100% of juveniles identified for outpatient mental health services will receive these services. (2) 50% of juveniles receiving outpatient services will be diverted from the Juvenile Justice system. (3) 50% of those referred by Juvenile Justice will not penetrate further into the Juvenile Justice system. (4) Increase the number of providers and the range or types of providers and services to this population.
