Project Description:
Columbia County request consideration of funding a permanent full-time staff position under the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission for the purpose of establishing & supervising an Environmental Education Program at Alligator Lake. The county was awarded a Florida Communities Trust Preservation 2000 grant to acquire the Alligator Lake property in 1994, and the grant agreement requires the establishment of an environmental education program.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
This program would provide environmental educational opportunities for K-12 students.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Students who are involved in these educational programs will become better stewards of Florida's environment.
