Project Description: |

||
Joint project of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Florida Department of Transportation, Miami-Dade County, City of Miami, and Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to revitalize the downtown commercial core and attract more people to live, shop, and work in downtown Miami. The improvement is to provide crime prevention through environmental design and includes pedestrian street lighting and streetscape enhancements. |

Create additional employment opportunities for low to moderate income persons; help to turn around the trend of disinvestment and deterioration; help to combat the crime problem by creating entry-level jobs that could be filled by youths, thereby removing them from the streets; increase area tax revenues; provide needed retail stores and services to the residents in the area; improve the overall image and safety of the area; and encourage further residential development. |
