Project Description:

Youth Leadership Program will provide at risk youth, ages 8-14 a safe structured and hands on environment to develop leadership training and nuture self esteem.

The Youth Leadership Program is centered on a very structured environment.  We provide leadership training through a variety of methods.  Homework assistance and computer training are among the academic portion we offer.  Outdoor survival skills are taught through overnight camping trips, compass reading, and natural resource recognition and shelter provisions.  Strict discipline is taught through regimented physical exercise.  Respect is expected and earned by the instructors through their determination to provide a safe place to go to after school and their desire to teach our youth how to be future leaders.  We offer a variety of sporting activities such as, archery, basketball and track.  We also provide field trips to football and basketball games.  The ballet and symphony are among other outings provided.  Uniforms are provided to enhance the discipline and academic portions of our program.  We have speakers to address issues such as teen violence, anti-drug use and Character Counts.  We offer a balance of education and discipline which encourage good behavior and academic success.
