Project Description:
Underground Fiber Optic cable installation from City of Margate City Hall to Emergency Command Center at Fire Station III, Fire Station II, North West Focal Point Senior Center, Department of Engineering and Environmental Services, Fire Fighter's Park Command Center, Building Department, Sports Complex Command Center, Neighborhood Policing, Public Works Command Center, and the Coconut Creek Fire and EMS Public Safety Building.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Uniterrupted emergency data network and voice communications during Emergency Management conditions caused by state issued disaster area proclamation, hurricane warnings, hurricane damage, severe weather conditions, natural disasters, and/or civil unrest.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
In addition to augmenting the City's capability to deliver emergency response services to its residents and businesses, the project increases the City's effectiveness to coordinate emergency response preparations and recoveries with local, county, and state agencies. The fiber optic connections to the Command Center outer locations would enable data and voice communications to all areas in the City of Margate to avoid, or reduce, or mitigate potential disaster related losses. We would also provide emergency response to Coconut Creek residents and businesses from the Command Center located at the Coconut Creek Fire and EMS Public Safety Building.
