Project Description:
Project Description: For the past 36 years, Manatee Technical Institute has served the Manatee County training and educational needs of a diverse student population that includes at-risk high school student, teen parents, dropouts, as well as dedicated adults who are seeking a better life style by completing high-skill, high-wage technical training programs. The 36 years of wear and tear and technological changes have left the Institute in need of new and/or updated facilities with an estimated cost of $20.8 million. The School Board of Manatee County has budgeted $8.8 million over the next two years to build a 50,000-square-foot, 192-student-station health occupations training center on 35 acres in the fast-growing Lakewwod Ranch area of the county and to renovate and remodel existing buildings on the original campus at 5603 34th Street West in Bradenton. The funds will be used for renovations of existing buildings and construction of new ones.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
The funds will enable Manatee Technical Institute to better serve the training and educational needs of Manatee and surrounding counties by providing facilities that meet ADA standards and are flexible enough to meet changing industry needs.

Increased enrollment.
