Project Description:

The project involves the purchase and retrofit of 2.2. acres of property, in a 60-acre basin, which will receive storm water runoff from the Cities of Cocoa and Rockledge.  The property will be converted into a dry retention system, with the installation of catch basins in the surrounding area and the installation of a weir to a discharge pipe which currently empties into the Indian River Lagoon.  They also anticipate placing a CDS unit in the pipeline along Sweet Street at Rockledge Drive, before any waters discharge into the Lagoon.  The property is located on the old coastal dune system, which enhances infiltration and is highly permeable.  Because of the soils in the area, the system will be a dry retention system.
