Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This appropriation would cover a number of improvements to the Florida Agricultural Museum, primarly designed to provide greater opportunities for visitors to experience the site.  These improvements include:

**$40,000 to Move and Construct the Lane Saw Mill from Tallahassee.

**$35,000 to Improve Dirt Roads.

**$27,000 to Develop Pastures.

**$20,000 to Construct Kiosk Exhibits.

**$10,000 to construct trails.

**$30,000 for Planning, Engineering, Permits and Design.

**$3,000 for Site Security.

 

NOTE:  The Commissioner of Agriculture, in a December 13, 1999 letter to the Museum, indicated that he would include these in any requested supplemental budgets.  While there is no match on this specific proposal, the Museum has made tremendous strides thanks to many private donors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

The Florida Agricultural Museum, designated by s. 570, F.S., will be Florida's home for agricultural education and research opportunities.  It will become a place for Floridians and tourists to visit and learn about the history of Agriculture in Florida and the critical role of agriculture in our economy.
