Project Description:
MCRHS, Inc. routinely provides labratory services for patients that have no funding sources to pay for the services. By virtue of the mission of MCRHS, we will refuse no patient on the basis of their inability to pay for medical treatment. MCRHS has many patients that have no funding source for medical care and are on our sliding fee scale. These patients therefore have their labs paid for by MCRHS. These unfunded labs cost MCRHS approximately $23,000 per month on average. These unfunded costs, obviously have an impact on our ability to provide regular medical treatments and services. Please review the enclosed packet of graphs concerning our routine and unfunded Lab charges.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
The primary purpose of this request is to provide financial relief for a necessary medical burden. Our mission is to provide access to quality health care for indigent and underserved peoples. The more money we spend on medical support services such as lab work, the less we have for direct medical services. This $250,000 request would have an immediate impact upon our ability to TREAT patients rather than just DIAGNOSING them.

Increased ability to provide diagnosis AND treatment to indigent and underserved populations in MCRHS's service area.
