Program generates data used by the Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering to insure integrity in the industry. Program's goal is to determine at what level drugs affect athletic performance. |

Currently, Florida law prohibits the occurrence of almost all drugs at any level whatsoever in the blood or urine of horses and greyhounds. It is imperative that the effects of drugs that have legitimate uses in racehorses and greyhounds be determined. Unfortunately, there have been instances where trainers have been disciplined for residue violations for legitimate drug use that is unlikely to have an impact on racing performance. |
