|
Provide Leon County public schools with 62 new teachers phased in between 2000 and 2004 for a goal of 10,000 new teachers statewide. This request is for first year funding of 16 new teachers. |

This will reduce class size and allow teachers to spend more one-on-one time with students. Currently, an additional 62 teachers are needed in Leon County and 8,300 statewide to meet the 1998 goal of one teacher for every 20 students in grade K-3 across the state. |
