Project Description:

Eastside P-3 Network is a microeconomic development model that bridges the connection between education and the economy (personal and business success).  Employing innovative skill techniques, the intent is to connect isolated poor youth to "People"; to provide travel and other related opportunities to different "Places" (including parts of the African Diaspora); and to nurture relationships that espouse the cultural dimensions of entrepreneurship ("Possiblities").

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

a) Afro-centric training to introduce children and youth aged 4-18 to cultural awareness, life skills, money management, the basics of investing, business development, leisure activities and travel.

b) Trained professionals with relevant business experiences and certification in Youth Entrepreneurship will provide one-on-one counseling

c) Each participant will develop an Individual and Family Learning Plan

d) Counselors and project staff will work closely with parents and other service providers to coordinate service delivery.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

Each participant will develop in three ways:  as citizens, through an increased sense of civic responsibility and a commitment to community involvement; as students through improved school performance and academic engagement; and as individuals through increased self-esteem, competence, moral and spiritual character development and reduced involvement in negative and/or risky behavior.
