Project Description:
A stornwater management plan will be developed for portions of the C-@ and C-100 surface water drainage basins in central Miami-Dade County. The plan will identify stornwater projects which will improve the quality, timing, and distribution of stornwater discharged to the C-2 and C-100 Canals and to Biscayne Bay.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Deliveries of appropriate water quality and quantity bo Biscayne Bay and the Biscayne Aquifer will minimize ecological impacts to a water body which provides habitat for wildlife and serves as a nursery for many fisheries resources. Visitors to Biscayne National Park and Biscayne ay Aquatic Preserve as well as south Florida residents would benefit.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The project will evaluate, rank and prioritize existing and future stormwater impacts by comparing the impacts to flood protection and water quality level of service (LOS) criteria. These criteria provide a benchmark by which existing or future flood protection or water quality performance may be measured.
