Project Description:
The Center for Marine Studies will be a regional facility for outreach education and career training in marine science and biotechnology. This 20,000 square feet, state of the art facility will include four teaching laboratories, two classrooms, a 300 seat auditorium, a wet lab/aquarium, interactive exhibits and access to the pristine and protected "living classroom" that surrounds Whitney Laboratory.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
This facility will be available to the diverse educational organizations in the region, and will serve students of all ages from elementary school through senior citizens.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Educational and career training in marine science and marine biotechnology to Northeast Florida.
