Project T.E.C. is a one-time capital improvement proposal designed to better the needs and interests of over 1,900 Manatee County Children and young adults. |

This proposal has three aspects: Service to Teens, Technology/Education, and Capital Improvements. Boys & Girls Club of Manatee County works with nearly 1,000 children and young adults daily, developing skills and attitudes needed to be successful. There is a special concern for the disadvantaged. Scholarships are provided to literally hundreds of needy children annually. It is in the best interest of the state to reach out to these children making sure that they get the opportunity to develop to their fullest potential. Many of these children are at the pinnacle of high risk profile and every one lost to teen pregnancy, high school dropout, drugs or crime is a terrible loss, not only economincally, but also in terms of human life. |

Construction to modify three of four existing facilities. Adding/incorporating teen centers into the buildings. Equip all three teen centers. Three state-of-the-art computerized Learning Centers with 15 networked computer stations at three clubs. Includes computer furniture, hardware, educational software, electrical setup. 45 units, 15 at three different clubs. Partial roof replacement and replacement of two buses. |
