Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AYUDA, Inc. exists to provide services to low and moderate income families that are at risk throughout Dade County. Currently AYUDA is funded through four Miami-Dade County's CBO Grants.

1. "Early Rise" - to provide comprehensive early intervention through preschool programs that include nutrition, health care, domestic violence couseling, advocacy, information and referral, and job coaching (Various Miami Beach Childcare Center Sites).

2. "Family Empowerment"- to teach conflict resolution skills to children and their parents in elementary schools  (Bay Harbour, Biscayne, North Beach and South Point Elementary).

3. "Mind Awake" -a teen intervention/youth self-respect program to prevent truancy and violent behaviors and help teens acheive success in life  (Miami Beach Senior High School).

4. "Here For You" - to help adult handicapped and Seniors achieve maximum safety, community benefits and independence  (County Wide).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

To ensure that Senior High School teens remain in school longer, achieve higher degree of school involvement,express feelings in more appropriate ways, resolve conflict by acting responsibly, respecting self and others, commit fewer violent acts towards peers, property, and authority figures, and reduce the number of teens going through the Juvenile Justice System.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

80% of students completing program will increase their school attendance, obtain one higher grade point average than before entering program, will reduce the amount of violent acts, will implement conflict resolution skills, will learn to express feelings appropriately, and will become involved in school in a positive manner.
