Project Description:
Construction of a primary outfall line for the disposal of treated wastewater effluent that will service recreastional, industrial and residential developments with reclaimed water for irrigation. This primary line is the first step of making reuse available to developments as outlined in the Florida Department of Environmental Protection consent order #98-2863.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
With the implementation of reuse water to developments the benefit to the state will be in the reduction of treated effluent being disposed of through a surface water discharge into Class 3 waters located in St. Andrews Bay. Availability of reuse will also decrease the amount of potable water from City wells which draw the Florida Aquifer.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Short Term: Estimated reduction of 400,000 gallons per day of treated wastewater being discharged into St. Andrews Bay. Long Term: Internal goal of reducing approximately 1,000,000 gallons per day of discharge into St. Andrews bay.
