Project Description:

The Community Re-entry Program (CRP) serves offenders newly released from prison, on probation and in community corrections programs.  CRP provides and coordinates services so that clients can become socially and economically productive members of their families and their communities, thereby avoiding a return to prison.  Program staff includes Case Managers, Job Developers, Education Specialists, a Legal Advisor and Support Group Facilitators.

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

More successful job placements, a higher percentage of job retention, a lower percentage of school drop-outs and a lower rate of recidivism.  The costs of arrest, prosecution, and incarceration will be lowered in the State.  The wages earned and taxes paid by the ex-offenders will benefit the State and immediate community.  The CRP will reduce the burden on the State of having to support the ex-offender and his/her familiy.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

The CRP will help 60% of its clients to obtain jobs within 120 days.  At least 75% of clients participating in Career Guidance Training will successfully complete the training.  At least 75% of clients participating in the Job Readiness Training will sucessfully complete the training. No more than 12% of clients of the CRP will become recidivists.
