Project Description:
Expand current temporary Crisis Shelter to 24 beds. The Florida Dept. of Children and Family Services approved a waiver to place additional children that have been removed from their homes due to abusive situations and into Devereux.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
The DCF has a crisis situation regarding children removed from homes as a result of abuse. Children have had to stay at service centers because there is a serious lack of beds. This expansion would provide appropriate accommodations for these children.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Appropriate and adequate space for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and placed in protective custody.
