Project Description:
Removal of old ash landfill from shore of Pelican River & Lake Okeechobee from when City operated incinerators but was required by State Regulations to close them down and utilize the Palm Beach County Solid Waste Authority services. The City cannot continue to maintain this ashfill and by removal it will not longer be a problem ever to the environmental system.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Provides for long term protection of waters of the Pelican River Lake Okeechobee and eventually the entire Everglades Ecosystem.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
FDEP Regulation would be in compliance and the time frame for accomplishment would be monitored and met by the City.
