Project Description:
Temple Terrace Town Center, Inc., a pulic private, not-for-profit corporation, was formed to respond to the City of Temple Terrace's 1996 Community Redevelopment Plan which called for the development of the Temple Terrace Town Center, a multi-functional ecomonic, civic, community, and cultural arts outreach center that will serve the 250,000 residents and visitors to Northeastern Hillsborough County.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
The Temple Terrace Town Center will be the only facility serve the over 250,000 residents of Northeast Hillsborough County. It will feature a theater, a civic/cultural arts center, meeting and exposition space, and administrative and office space. The Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce will offer a number of business and job development programs. The Town Center will become the focal point of activity in Northeast Hillsborough County and beyond. It will enrich the quality of life for all area residents and visitors, and enhance educational, economic, and cultural arts opportunities where they are needed most. This facility will help to hedge against urban sprawl by revitalizing the traditional neighborhood through outreach to adjacent minority communities and after school programs. The Temple Terrace Town Center will serve as the hub for the redevelopment of the City of Temple Terrace and Northeast Hillsborough County, ensuring continued community stability and healthy growth.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
A 29,000 square foot cultural arts facility that will serve the public/private partnership arising from a mutually shared vision for the community and all 250,000 residents of Northeast Hillsborough County.
