Project Description:
Provide Florida's public schools with an additional 10,000 teachers over the next four years to reduce overcrowding.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
This will improve student to teacher ratios and allow teachers to spend more one-on-one time with students. Currently, an additional 8,300 teachers are needed in grades K-3 across the State. An additional 1,700 teachers in the State's failing schools will help lift them up and ensure that all children receive quality public education.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
If not adopted, our children will continue to be placed in over-crowded classrooms without sufficient contact with good teachers.
