Project Description:

AMI's level 2 programs play an important role in keeping youth from re-offending and entering higher levels in the Juvenile justice system. Students who graduate from the programs re-enter area schools, enroll in community college after earning a high school diploma through the General Educational Development examination, enter a vocational training program or obtain a job. All funds necessary to provide the Phase 2 educational services to students up to their earning a high school diploma would be generated using the FEFP formyla in the local school districts along with the categorical funkd appropriate for this group of youth.  The only additional financial support that will be necessaryt through the Legislature is aupplemental funds to cover the cost of transporting the youth, additional services to place and support youth in jobs and to provide continuing education to youth once they earn their high school diplomas.
