Lowry Park Zoo emphasizes Florida native species: the Florida Manatee Hospital is the only one in Florida that operates as nonprofit solely for manatee rescue, rehab, and release.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Funding will provide direct care to save a Florida species known throughout the state in a publicly accessible facility that is 98% self-supporting.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Continued care for injured Florida manatees.
