Project Description:
The property is zoned for 200 adjudicated beds and 200 non-adjudicated beds. This request is to build the second set of dormotories for an additional 100 beds.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
The Bay-Point School program has proven to reduce recidivism to 5% annually. For the sake of Public Safety and the lives of the redirected youth, it is important to build the permanent campus to its capacity. This request will allow 100 more troubled youths to have the opportunity to attend this valuable program. In so doing, we improve safety in the public schools an on our streets.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Reduction of waiting list of three thousand recipients waiting to enter the program.
