A pilot project to implement strategies for the prevention of homelessness by providing short term assistance with delinquent rent, mortgage payments, and /or utility payments on behalf of Lee County residents who are temporarily or permanently unable to work due to injury or illness allowing them time to recover and/or make alternative plans. Lee County is designated a Community Action Agency. |

Services Provided/Benefit to State: |

Through this intervention and prevention of homelessness, the State will conserve revenue expenditures that may not incurred due to hospitalization either for physical or mental problems that result from the stress of losing one?s home. The State would reduce the need for additional shelter space for the homeless. |
