Project Description: |
The primary focus of this project is to upgrade an existing boat launching facility and provide better access to public waters. The ramp was constructed many years ao and is in very poor shape Land resources are scarce, so priority was given to the only launching facility within the city limits. Other elements included in this project include playground equipment, picnic facilities, parking, beach access walkover, benches, security lighting, and a community events sign. The intent was to provide a multi-purpose facility because it will provide a greater range of opportunities. Tourism is vital to the economy of the community and the State of Florida. This park is the "centerpiece" for the Labor Day Scallop Festival and other local events. |
