This project will include construction on picnic facilities, providing playground equipment, fishing pier/canoe launch and a picnic pavillion, and restroom facilities, upgrading the bath house, in-ground septic system and picnic area. |

(This project is in the Governor's designated Area of Economic Critical Concern) Jackson County has been awarded a fifth (50)year lease on 211 acres of State owned property surrounding Jackson Blue Springs. The site includes an old bath house, a snack bar, a picnic area and an abandoned clubhouse. The spring, which is a listed First Magnitude Spring of Florida, supplies water to Merritt's Millpond, a nationally known fishing site. This project funding will renovate and secure this site for future visitors from all over and for the citizens of Jackson County. |
