Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is the final amount needed to match the City's funds, the County's Grant and the Federal EDA Grant.  Without this appropriation this project cannot proceed to completion and the Federal EDA Grant to $1,200,000 would be lost.  The City of Belle Glade lost over 500 jobs when the South Bay Growers closed.  Even though South Bay has received financial assistance Belle Glade purchased the land with its own dollars and through grants from County and Federal Sources.

This project will allow for new jobs, and a reduction in public assistance.  The new jobs will reap new revenues including Sales Taxes as well as less need for public assistance.
