Project Description:
Phase 1, Upgrade to protect the health,safety and welfare of our citizens infrastructure. Most of Brooksville's water and sewer pipes were installed in 1925. Time and use have resulted in breakage, infiltration and decreased efficiency.Presently, there is not enough water pressure to fight fires, this endangers our citizens and preservation of Historical Landmarks such as Gov. Jennings Mansion which is on the National Register. Several phases of the plan to include streetscaping, restructured zoning guidelines,aesthetic enhancements to infrastructure improvements, recreational opportunities to business development.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Same as above, and to provide a safe and healthy environment to approx. 8500 residents with the city limits and the County seat of Hernando Co.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
To enchance the operational and visual impact of downtown by developing a uniform image, to maximize downtown properties and their values, to attract more professionals, Visitors and Shoppers. To diversify the area's economic base. Revitalization will increase tourism, business and residential development.
