Project Description: |

||
Thomas E. Langley Medical Center is a community health center located in rural Sumter County. It is the most comprehensive healthcare facility in the county. An Urgent Care clinic, a self-contained pediatric clinic, an on-site pharmacy, and a dental clinic complement the core clinic which provides primary medical services to approximately 10,000 patients. The Center's sliding fee scale provides healthcare access to many who could not otherwise afford it. the Center is in need of a new building. The existing facility consists of a series of modulars added on as the patient population grew. Due to the age of these structures they are in constant need of repair. The space is inefficent for current patient flow, and will be totally unable to manage the growth projected for Sumter County. The Center is requesting a legislative appropriation of $2 million dollars in the Department of Health budget for the construction of a new building. Additional funds from other sources will be sought for furniture and equipment. |
