Project Description:
Establishment of water and sewer system for City of Midway by extension of City of Tallahassee's water and sewer line into City of Midway. Conceptually, the City of Midway would purchase capacity from Tallahassee for resale to its customers. It is envisioned that the project will be implemented in three phases: (1) I-10/US 90 extension, (2) US 90 - Brickyard Road and (3) County Road 268 - Palmer Road extension. Rapid growth in the area has become a potential threat to water quality. Establishment of a water and sewer system has become essential for protection of water quality, economic development and public health.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Protection of water quality, economic devlopment and public health. Resolution of documented public health problems and discharge of pollutants into groundwater.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Protection of water quality, economic development and public health will be accomplished for the 1183 residents of the area and pollutant runoff into the Ochlockonee River will be minimized.
