Project Description:
This project would provide a multi use public park, an improved entrance to the City, and parking at the main intersection of the City of Wilton Manors. This intersection is called the Five Points Intersection, because it is where five roads within the City converge. It has also become one of the main focal points for activity, and provides an easily indentifiable landmark for both residents and vistors. The Five Points Intersection is one of the historical sites in the City.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Entrance way to main street promotes Wilton Manors Downtown State Rd. 811, compliments FDOT project #86170-3511, reduces parking deficit, removes non-conforming blighted use and restores a historical site. Projects that promote beautification and improvements are consistent with Eastward Ho! initiatives, because they have the potential to draw more individuals, families, and businesses into downtown.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Reduction of identified parking deficit by 50 spaces, removal of blighted condition/non-conforming use and restoration of historical entrance way to this traditional downtown. This project will promote business recruitment, development and retention.
