Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The co-housing concept of Community By The Sea will provide a secure environment and on going care for the Developmentaly Delayed and the Mentally Retarded population who choose to live in this planned community.  Support services will include vocational training and employment, education to develop and maintain learning skills.  Community By The Sea will include thirty-seven (37) single family homes for families who wish to have their loved ones continue to live with them. Fourteen (14) group homes with house parents will be available for those whose parents can no longer care for them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

Residential community where personal health, psychological and spiritual counseling, financial planning services will be available.  Community By The Sea will maximize alliances with schools, houses of worship, medical service providers, financial institutions, grocery and food market chains, post office, and transportation services for for residents of the community.  Long term sustained residential options for Developmentaly Disabled/Memtally Retarded adults that are out-living their parents, and will have no where to live.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

Housing for the targeted population.  Sixteen (16) families have already agreed to purchase single family homes in the community and thirty-eight (38) individuals have agreed to participate in personal homes of choice (group homes) utilizing thirteen (13) homes.
