Project Description:
Plug and abandon 19 existing, out of service irrigantion wells on 4900 acres of what was once First American Farms. Property is now WRP wellfield wells are 10 inch in diameter and 500 feet deep penetrating Floridan Aquifer.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Plugging old wells will protect the Floridan Aquifer, the water source for Okaloosa & Walton Counties and will help ensure the public safety.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
19 Floridan Aquifer Wells will be plugged and capped.
