Project Description:
Covered Agricultural Arena.The current arena serves as the home for the county riding club, fair association, and is used for many agricultural & equine events. Many civic groups within the local area also use the arena. The request for funds to cover the arena with a shelter would allow for operation of the facility in all types of weather. It would also have a positive impact on the many civic & youth groups that utilize the facility.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
All of the citizens and residents of the county as well as all the non-profit groups that participate in the arena operations will benefit from these improvements. The arena serves as the cental hub for practically all-agricultural and equestrian functions in our rural area. Additionally, many youth programs, which promote agriculture and provide activities for local children would be enhanced by this project.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The performance standard and measures associated with this project are centered on construction of a covered shelter over the county arena. This project would greatly enhance the viability of this facility and provide year round use for agricultural/equestrian events, as well as, providing a facility for use by other community/civic groups.
