Project Description:
The Initiative includes the implementation of flood protection measures, erosion and sedimentation control projects, and surface water quality retofits; it addresses surface water nutrient reduction through stormwater park creation and total maximum daily load (TMDL) development and implementation; and it improves public availability of flood prediction information for the basin. Also included in the initiative are programs to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the flood protection and water quality imporvement efforts for the water body.
Services Provided/Benefit to State:
Improve persistent drainage, flood control and water quality problems throughout the Middle Basin of the St. Johns River.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Reduce nutrient levels and sedimentation in middle basin water bodies resulting in improved drainage, flood control and water quality.
