Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Serenity House proposes to implement a pilot project which incorportes multiple recommendations of the Office of Drug Control Policy, the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Assoication, and the District XII Human Service Board.  The project, the Interdisciplinary Managed Care Initiative, funds a highly-skilled team of certified and licensed professional staff who will manage the care of high risk substance abusers with multiple disorders.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Services Provided/Benefit to State:

 

 

 

 

 

A primary goal of this program is to reduce public costs through an aggressive managed care approach to chronic substance abusers.  By targeting high utilizers of publicly-funded, high cost services and corrdination effective interventions for this population, this program will divert substance abusers from deep penetration into costly criminal justice, mental health, helath care, and mental health systems.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

Projected pre-treatment vs. post treatment outcomes of the project for the first year of operation include: improve client retention in residential treatment by 25%, increase days employed by 20%, increase client income by 20%, decrease arrest rates by 33%, decrease use of illicit drugs by 50%, decrease emergency room admissions by 40%, and decreased reliance upon public assistance by 25%.
