ARISE Secrets of Success is an award-winning, statistically-proven, professionally managed, juvenile prevention and intervention program, consisting of an in dept series of interactive courses of life management skills, specifically designed for high-risk youth, ages 12-18, in secure juvenile justice facilities, alternative schools, diversion programs, juvenile assessment centers, after care, and probation programs.  Since 1986, this program has reached its goals of encouraging youth to obey the law, stay in school, respect society and self, reducing recidivism and truancy, and increasing school attendance.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

Youth will significantly (25% of the youth) will improve their perceptions and violence reduction, anger management, the effects of drugs and alcohol abuse, the importance of staying in school, avoiding gangs, self-respect, and more.  A pre/post attitudinal survey will be administered and analyzed by the University of Miami, Dept. of Sociology.  The truancy rate will be reduced significantly by 25%.  The number of truancies before involvement compared to after involvement will be analyzed.  There will be a significant reduction (25%) after 6 months of release and a year of release. (DJJ will work with us to determine these results.  Significant increase in the life-skill knowledge learned.  Youth will be tested at the end of each chapter and assessed at the end of each book to determine the life-skill informtion learned.)  Significant reduction in the amount of incidences of disruptive and violent behavior.  A written survey will be completed by each instructor to determine if participants reduced the number of disruptive and violent behavior after participant the program.
