Project Description: |

The Grove is proposing to add 100 treatment slots to be used for criminal justice offenders who are charged with drug offences or have a history of drug use. Many of these offenders have used drugs for a number of years and have been unsuccessful in breaking the cycle of addiction. The array of treatment options available to these individuals will increase the likelihood of success by holding them accountable for their actions, reduce victimization by intervening early through the provision of needed services and improving overall health. The services offered will range from ambulatory detoxification, intensive outpatient, outpatient and aftercare services for the targeted population. Individual, group and family counseling services will also be provided with special emphasis on relapse prevention strategies. The proposed budget issue will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the system through the provision of a continuum of services for criminal justice involved individuals who have experienced difficulty in accessing treatment providers, and will complement and be accessible to the Seminole Drug Court initiative. Ambulatory Detoxification: is an intensive program that meets at The Grove's Outpatient Office from 8:00 am to 12:30 noon every day of the week for up to 2 weeks. A nurse is available during program hours to monitor clients daily and participate in the delivery of group treatment services. Intensive outpatient: Intensive Outpatient consists of three three-hour group session per week complemented by individual and family counseling as needed. Therapeutic homework is a major component of the program. Clients are expected to attend three self-help meetings per week and establish a relationship with a permanent sponsor, Outpatient Group: Outpatient Group meets once per week for two hours. It includes a blend of psycho-educational and psychotherapeutic approaches designed to meet the needs of clients who are generally stable and may have completed more intensive phases of the program, but still have moderate difficulty in one or more area of functioning. Aftercare Group: one of the completion requirements of treatment is the development of a continuing care plan which addresses long term recovery and stability issues in the areas of personal, social, family, and occupational functioning. |
