This project is the upgrading of the stormwater management infrastructure on NW 79th and 80th Avenues between NW 103rd and 95th Streets. This will permit the City to improve the quality of water entering the Biscayne aquifer and to institute preventive measures, via periodic pump-outs, which will allow for additional system capacity during the rainy season. This project is regional in scope, meets a documented need, is intended to produce a measurable result, and has tangible community support. |

||||
|
The reduction of the duration and severity of flood events, a reduction in claims resulting from currently severe flooding impacts, the improvement in water quality entering the Biscayne Aquifer (the federally designated sole source of drinking water for Miami-Dade County), and the economic revitalization of the affected area. |
