Project Description:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Provide capital and operating expense for a pilot aquaculture cooperative project in an inner city area for the purpose of starting an aquatic processing center and raising aquatic plants and animals for food and ornamental plants that are all to be sold as part of a small business.  The Collier City/Pompano Beach Community Development Corporation will be responsible for operating the aquaculture and hydroponics complex.  This project will focus initially on the creation of a fish processing facility and spinoff businesses in product sales and shipping.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

The following short-term and long-term benefits are anticipated:  1) infusion of new technical employment, 2) job training and employment opportunities, 3) fresh fish and vegetables, 4) spinoff businesses in product sales and shipping, 5) environmental protection and restoration, 6) revitalization monies through success and publicity, and 7) positive national impacts to the science of sustainable, environmentally complatible aquaculture.
