The Community and Faith-based Organizations Initiative will promote community development through partnerships with community-based organizations and organizations connected to the faith community.  The purpose of this initiative is to provide partnerships with community and faith-based organizations to promote community development in low-income communities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:

 

 

 

 

 

(1) Professional skill development-creation and operation of training programs to enhance the professional skills of individuals working within community and faith-based organizations; (2) development of future leaders-intership programs will be established for graduate students within community and faith-based organizations and stipends will be awarded in form of assistantships; (3) promotion of a "Best Practices" Annual Conference for community and faith-based organizations to discuss and share information on issues relating to the creation, operation, and sustainability of community and faith-based organizations; and (4) establishment of research opportunities on economic, operational, and policy issues that relate to community development.
