Project Description:
The Biltmore Hotel, in Coral Gables is an architectural masterpiece and an enduring symbol of the Land Boom period in Florida. The Hotel is owned by the City of Coral Gables, deeded by the federal government under the Legacy of Parks and National Monuments Act. This request, which has been submitted to the Secretary of State's office for consideration as a "Historical Grant-in-Aid," is for matching dollars to structurally stabilize many of the projecting re-enforced steel elements, which through spelling and the cumulative effects of weather and age have become severely deteriorated. Repairs to be funded include roof replacement, tile replacement, balconies repair, concrete slab repair, concrete railing repair, iron railing repair, and iron support brackets repair and/or replacement.

The repairs will help prevent the hotel from vacany and a reduce the financial drain on the City of Coral Gables
