Project Description:
Supplement reuse water supply with surface water from the St. John's River by building a river intake and pumping station at the west end of Highbanks Road. Water will be pumped into a Raw Water Main along the north side of Highbanks Road and along the power easement up to the Southwewt Reclamation Facility and the reuse system expanded to meet area wide irrigation demands.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
To meet public access reuse demand the Southwest Reclamation Facility needs to be expanded. This will result in a direct reduction in groundwater use in a critical water supply area. The reclaimed demand can be supplemented by 1 MGD of water from the St. Johns River. The St. Johns River would be filtered, chlorinated and then blended into the reclaimed water. There is a potential savings in groundwater supply of 365 million gallons to 550 million gallons per year.
