Project Description:
Acquisition of thirty (30) electric charging stations to support hybrid electric bus connections serving the airport, seaport, mass transit in order to provide circulation at the beach, downtown Ft. Lauderdale, convention center and rail passenger service facilities (regional connections) and other congested areas. These multimodal linkages would be augmented by various applications of other electric and alternative fuel transportation such as hybrid electric ferryboat services (This appropriation leverages the federal dollars allocated in 2000 to ferryboat development and service implementation) and electric station cars.
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
CAC would help to improve mobility of people and goods through increased transit passenger vehicles removed from the roads.
