Project Description:
Purchase land and construct ponds and wetlands in the Curiosity Creek basin (Hillsborough County). Clean out debris from three sinks directly connected to Sulphur Springs groundwater system. Purchase land and construct one interceptor pond at Jasmine Sink. Locate and divert salt springs (City of Tampa).
Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
Improved water quality; Increased fresh water flow to Hillsborough River and Tampa Bay; Improvement of stormwater management; Enhanced flood control management; Enchance estuarine habitats for fish and wildlife; Enhance wetland habitats at Blue Sink; Create urban wildlife sanctuary and corridor; Increase public awareness.
